The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art fills several interconnected old factory buildings in North Adams. The buildings were originally owned by a textile printer, then by an electronics company that employed nearly a quarter of the town's population until it closed forty years ago.
The Town of North Adams encouraged the rehabilitation of the buildings into an arts complex.
Huge walls over three floors are filled with colorful works by minimalist artist, Sol Lewitt, who believed that the concepts embodied in the works were more important than the execution, which he left to others.
Cosmic Latte by Spencer Fitch represents the Milky Way with the light of 350 LED fixtures.
Joe Wardwell filled two walls (only one of which is shown) with highly complex images that I can't begin to explain. Suffice it to say that the biggest letters read, "Fame and fortune is a stupid game / Fame and fortune is the game I play,"

I still remember when you showed some Lewitt work several years ago. I really like his work, Jack.
This art complex is filled with colorful eye catching murals, always good to see.
