Chetstone

Built in 1875 on the east side of New Haven, Chetstone is one of the city's finest examples of residential Carpenter Gothic architecture.  I passed through New Haven on the way back from Lyme and went looking for this house.  It is well hidden behind overgrown foliage.

Chetstone was home to Dr. Mary Blair Moody, one of the first female physicians to practice in the city. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017.

What a wonderful looking house. No wonder you went looking for it. It now seems to be well loved and maintained.
