Ridgefield's Memorial Day parade was scheduled for today. Most years that would produce a flood of photographs of marchers on this blog tomorrow and subsequent days, but there is a forecast for daylong rain, so the parade has been cancelled.
Parade or no parade, this is the war memorial on what used to be the town green.

Jack, holidays often change. Memorial Day used to be called Decoration Day, and it used to always be on May 30 no matter what day of the week that was. We were married on May 29 sixty years ago hoping to always have a holiday to celebrate our day, but no, it changed to the 3rd Monday on May. No fun having a parade in the rain.
