Looking in the window of RPAC Gallery on Main Street, I saw a man painting a huge sneaker. Of course, I went inside. Greg was painting tiger patterns on this big fiberglass sneaker form. The Ridgefield high school sports teams are called the Tigers.
There will be six foot tall fiberglass sneakers all around town this summer. The owner of a local running store is a big civic booster. She has enlisted artists, storekeepers and businesses to decorate sneakers and place them around town. They will be auctioned off in the fall to raise money for student-athletes.
