The days are getting shorter and cooler. The blankets have come out of the closet.
Autumn is on the way.
Driving on a pretty street in South Windsor, I came across a field of pumpkins.
In a month, they will be at every house in New England,
waiting to greet trick-or-treaters.

Except from shorter days , autumn did not reach us yet here .
yup, you can feel it in the air!
My favorite time of the year!
Yes, the season is already here.
Hey, this is a big one! Here you need a tractor to take it home.
I love seeing pumpkins out in the fields. Yesterday I was out taking photos of some too.
Beautiful capture for Fall! Love the pumpkin!! It is gray and rainy and quite cool here in Portland today, but more warm days and sunny skies are on the way! The weather is considerably different to what it was when I first moved to Oregon over twenty years ago! Hope your week is going well, Jack! Enjoy!
I think that might be the great pumpkin in the foreground.
We're not so much into the Halloween thing here Jack.. but I did make a very delicious pumpkin soup last night.. not kidding I really did :)
A lovely photo of the changing season.

This city girl has never seen a field of pumpkins but it looks great, Jack!
nice!!
i miss that cold in the air just before winter..... and the fall colors of course!
That's already a good sized pumpkin!
My favorite season!
Fall comes a bit late here in Georgia, but it will be here in late October early November. I like your photo and also the black and white one you showed earlier.
I already have some on my porch! This is a beauty of a shot with the large pumpkin in front.
Those are amazing.
You've got the essence. We're a couple of weeks behind but the sun is now right in my eyes as I drive southwest home from work.
I know autumn is there, but I keep hoping it doesn't show up too early...
Love this shot, Jack. I am going to miss Halloween. It's just not the same here...
Fall has some interesting holidays, but I'm not pleased since it is the advent of winter.
Yep. My soup recipes are starting to come out again. And though we haven't had frost yet, some of our trees are are changing color so fast it's unsettling (as in, I'm not ready for that part).
