The Barn

The roof on this eastern Connecticut barn caved in during the October Surprise snow storm of 2011.

Always wanted a big barn attached. Glad I never got one, because of this photo.

It's looking a little shabby still today.

it's like a kind of jazz.

This is a rustic scene for a subject for photography, but the barn siding looks like it is ready to be reused for furniture, flooring, or some other use.

Same deal in my area all the time.

I really like these kinds of photos. But I think that barn didn't have long to live even before the storm! :)

The viewer can't really tell if this was an old building ready to fall or new construction that met disaster. There is a puzzle here for a careful viewer.

Nice b&w image.

Nice image. I hate to see old buildings like this go down, but they reach a point of no return, like a lot of old farms. And people. Ouch.

Hope it can be repaired

oh no, poor thing!

This saddens me deeply. Our barn is very old and is a sponge for repairs. Makes we weep to see the local barns vanish...

That must have been quite a storm Jack, hopefully there won't be any more like this this year!
