Out of the Jurisdiction: Cordoba

Four interior views of the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba, constructed in the seventh century as a Moorish mosque.  Cordoba was the regional capital at the time.

After conquest by Christians in the 12th century, it was converted to a cathedral.

Love all those arches...speaking of the two religions in one structure!

The Moorish architecture is impressive. This is one of the high point of a visit to Cordoba.

Beautiful!
Re-used espace. Catholics reused the same space to build their Cathedral instead of tearing down the previous building (mosque)
