My West Hartford house is two blocks from Elizabeth Park, a wonderful amenity for this area.
But, we are too late for tulips and daffodils and too early for most annuals, perennials and roses. So, for City Daily Photo's monthly theme of "Parks" in June, here is an image of an Elizabeth Park pond.
The only roses in bloom are the very early Harison's Yellow roses at the rose garden's western entrance. For the rest of the roses, the peak is the third week of June.
Plant workers and volunteers have pulled the tulips.
They are in the middle of planting the annual garden.
And, away from the gardens there are pretty areas of the park with trees, grass, light and shadow.

Beautiful light and shadow in the woods. Clear blue sky makes me want to walk in those gardens.
I knew we would see Elizabeth Park today! It is an in between season for it.
