Mountain Laurel


Mountain laurel is Connecticut's state flower.  They started blooming last week.  I like the in-between phase when some blooms are out but lots of buds are still in tight but colorful balls.

I first payed attention to these on a visit to Eastern Kentucky. Beautiful!
