Out of the Jurisdiction: Whale Watch off Provincetown

Visiting friends on Cape Cod, we took a whale watch.  There were numerous
fin whales and humpback whales.  Great fun!

Dolphin X was our boat.  The one on the right.

It was a crystal clear day for a view of Provincetown from the pier.

I am pretty sure this is the Race Point Lighthouse, near the tip of Cape Cod.

Whale watching is great fun. I love it when one of them breaches within our sight. . .so very cool. Your photos indicate a day of many pleasantries!!

What fantastic photos and how fun to go on one of these whale watching cruises. Years ago when I took that cruise from New York to Nova Scotia, I remember standing by the railing of the ship and seeing a whale and a few dolphins who seemed to follow the ship for a while. That is the only time I've ever seen them in the wild. And, I was all by myself. No one else was on deck at the time so I couldn't even point it out to anyone.

How fabulous, Jack! I've never seen them in the wild. I saw dolphins in the Everglades and still get a thrill when I remember the sight of them.

Great photos Jack. It's only the thought of being in a boat that puts me off!

Those first few pix are spectacular. You had good luck. Many years ago my wife and I and the kids took one of these boats from P Town. Nothing but fog and the children got seasick.

Fabulous pictures. It's really difficult to get the whale's tail perfect, but you succeeded.
