Here is the end of my recent trip around northern New England. The trip took me from Hartford to western Massachusetts, to Vermont, to the White Mountains of New Hampshire and then down to the New Hampshire seacoast, into the North Shore of Massachusetts, and then back to Connecticut.
I was in my home town 20 miles north of Boston for a few hours. This house is where I lived for the first four years of my life. I spent some time talking with the woman who lives next door and learned that she is the granddaughter of the couple who lived there during my childhood. That was a LONG time ago.

Nice memories, Jack. We lived in a similarly shaped house in Kansas City, Missouri, when our two sons were born in Kansas City, Kansas. I've only been back lately on Google Maps--someone remodeled the front porch and made the house plain and ugly, not at all what I remembered.
It reminds me of a house from my home town, Quincy Illinois. How fun to visit some childhood haunts.
I also lived the first four years of my life in another place, but that house was demolished a long time ago. This one is really beautiful!

Jack, that looks like a great house for a young family. It even has a three car garage! The house I lived in for the first four years is smaller than yours, but it is still standing in Evanston, Illinois. I thought it huge when I lived there, but it looks tiny to me now.

This looks like a nice place to call home, though for me years 0-4 don't produce too many memories.
Sounds like you had a nice New England trip though you've missed leaf peeping. But I suppose that may have been the point, too.
