Jules
Jules' new camera just arrived yesterday. So, she was in Elizabeth Park practicing her photography. When I met her, she was standing on her toes to take a close-up of a very pretty rose on the top of a bush.
And I had a new lens and was practicing my portrait photography. I got a 50mm f/1.4 prime lens, a so-called "Nifty Fifty." This was one of my first shots with it, and I am happy so far.

She's a cutie. Enjoy the new lens Jack.
Gorgeous portrait!
You are really investing in this photography, Jack. Have fun!
Enjoy that lense....nice shot!
Great portrait Jack! I think your "nifty-fifty" is going to be a good addition!
This is a great portrait. That is going to be my next lens purchase. I've been wanting one for a while now.
She is gorgeous!Love this portrait!

I agree with Halcyon, I think your "nifty-fifty" is definitely a good addition! Beautiful capture of a lovely young woman! Hope you're preparing for a great weekend, Jack!! Enjoy!
Perfect layering of the composition. If the flowers were the background for her face it would be busy distraction, but they are a perfect complement to the color of the blouse.
Jack, you don't need practice for portraits as you have a great eye. Have fun with the new lens.
Love your shot and you found a very nice subject to try your new lens. For what I remember I never had a fifty when I had a reflex, now I have a bridge with a zoom lens, so probably I am missing something...
An other very nice portrait, Jack!
Your nifty fifty is one stop better than mine. A great portrait lens it is. And this is a good start.
Great portrait of a pretty woman, Jack!
Wonderful portrait, Jack! The subject as well as your image - well worth the investment!
Well done! If you want to add another post retirement profession to "Designer, part time," you could do "Portraiture, specializing in beautiful women." After all, you have a new lens that needs to justify itself, right?
This is quite a nice one. I'm guessing the lens had some help from the photographer.
Lovely shot, Jack!
Nice portrait and smile.
Very nice portrait Jack. Good luck with the new lens!
A delight to look at, and I'd guess she has a personality to match.
You're lucky with the 50mm f/1.4. I've got the 50mm f/1.8 (a lot cheaper!) and I love it.
I think you and your new lens will have a lovely time! Hopefully this young lady will enjoy her photography too. Did you encourage her to start blogging?
What a beautiful portrait!
Fab portrait Jack, how exciting, you are going to have such fun with that lens :)
I love this shot, Jack! I'm so happy we met that day :) Enjoy exploring with your new lens! If you ever want to check out that flower I was on my tippy toes for.. its in here: julesinski.vsco.co :)
@Jules, thanks for visiting. I hoped that you would so you could see the portrait. Your own photos are superb. I hope I run into you again, whether with the nifty fifty or my more common 18-135mm zoom.
she does look cute!!
