Backroads

Backroads operates hiking, biking, kayaking and other active travel trips around the globe.  I have taken Backroads biking trips to the Loire Valley of France and the low country of the USA, and two Backroads hiking trips in Italy.

Backroads is going to use this photo from my 2010 hiking trip in Cinque Terre and the Chianti region of Tuscany in their 2014 hiking catalog.  Pretty cool, don't you think?

Backroads trips are superb in every way.  Exercise.  Scenery.  Places to stay.  Food and wine (like this picnic lunch).  Hosts and fellow guests.  I am thinking that my 2014 might include a Backroads hike on the Amalfi Coast.

Reminds me of cross-country ski trips we took with small bottles of peach brandy.

A great marketing photo for backroads. You certainly are an energetic traveler. Now I have to google Backroads to see their trips.

Good lord that's a great photo and perfect for Backroads! Congrats! I'd go hiking just for the food!

Re your question: I have no idea. Just keep going day by day! :-)

Congratulations Jack. That's a great photo and anyone looking for a fun trip would be enticed by it. Hiking the Amalfi Coast will require some strenuous hiking I'm sure.

Congratulations on Backroads using your photo for their brochure.

Julie and I have entered the photo contest of the tour company we have used a bunch of times, and we have never won, but they keep using our photos, including one of mine for the cover of their brochure.

Some of the roads in the Amalfi Coast are of a width more suitable for walking than driving.

I forgot to mention earlier when I commented that no, there is no cow skull at my house. I do have a string of chilies hanging on the porch. I will admit that there was a cow skull in my past. When I lived in Mesa years ago, I had one hanging over the fireplace. It was a truly southwestern style house so it fit in quite well.

Jack, I can see why Backroads wants to use your terrific, mouth watering photo for their brochures. Congratulations. Bike touring is great fun, and it does peak the appetite.

Oh, my goodness! That table is an irresistible advertisement. My idea of a perfect meal. It's outstanding - congratulations! (Have they offered a discount on your next trip in payment for the photo?)

I was recently contacted by a book author to use one/some of my photos. I won't get excited until the (free-I get the book)deal is clinched.

Congratulations, Jack! That is a memorable photo and now it will be published. The trips sound fabulous and right down my alley. Perhaps the biking would be less dangerous than the streets of Paris?

Love this shot and I bet that it was delicious, too!

Congratulations on your photo being used in the hiking catalog. That meal spread looks better than what I eat at home.
