How lucky we are to be able to wander in off the street and see such works. There is an interesting contrast in the dress sense of Madame X and Ms Y who is observing the painting.

Heart of the Andes certainly captures my eye.
I can hardly wait! I'm going for a whole week in late October. I have a list of places I want to revisit and a few I want to see for the first time. I've always done short trips to NY before so this will be a wonderful time to explore so much more.
I can see you had a wonderful time at the Met. John Singer Sargent has always been one of my favorite painters, and who would not be impressed by the Tiffany stained glass.
In addition to the art, I like observing the viewers. . .quite a collection of people. In museums I always take note of the frames as well as the art. Some of these in your photos are remarkably ornate.
Great that they let you take photos. Most of our galleries don't.
