To Yale or Bust
Yale's Museum of British Art in New Haven has wonderful artwork in a recently renovated modern building by noted American architect, Louis Kahn. And, a lot of busts.
The fellow represented in the last photo looks a jolly sort while the one in the top photo looks a bit stern. I can't get over that ornate frame on the painting in the top photo. I don't think I've ever seen one so elaborate.

Very impressive detailed work.
Had to smile at the various hairstyles and headpieces. And women are supposed to be vain?!

Beautiful photos Jack. This is a place I would enjoy visiting!
The one in the foreground on the second last shot seems familiar... reminds me of a bust in the National Gallery here.
There is so much wonderful detail in these busts, Jack!
Well, the gang certainly seems to all be here. That's quite a frame in the first shot.
How on earth do people make stuff like this????
