The Linden
The Linden is a lovely old building on Hartford's Main Street, built in 1891. It was extensively renovated several decades ago. Today it has retail on the first floor and condos upstairs.
Interesting because we have a similar structure in St. Paul with the same configuration of retail and condos. According to my husband, at one time the building had bee a grand old hotel.
The look is similar to Washington Avenue in downtown STL, but we don't have anything there like that wonderful turret tower. You do see them of some 19th Century Germanic-style homes in old neighborhoods.

Those old buildings have a lot of character.

It looks like a similar building here too that had also been a hotel in the past. Beautiful, Jack!
What a beautiful old building. I wonder if the condo owners have access to that widow's walk on the top.
You caught great light on that stately, old building.
Quite an impressive building!
Fabulous architecture, love the belvedere!
It's gorgeous, so glad they can refurbish these old places so beautifully. I bet the view from the roof is great.
