Out of the Jurisdiction: Horses

Sun Valley is in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg,
with many horse farms and conservation land.

Susie's and Wessel's small farm has stables and paddocks that they rent out.  So, they
get to enjoy the sight of horses grazing and training, but without the work and expense.

The horses on the leased land are champion show horses and jumpers.

Nice to know a lot of South African land has been saved for horses and conservation.

Beautiful views - and sleek horses. The masks must be to stop flies, I imagine.

Odd masks - like Jenny I guess they are to keep flies away from the eyes.

I know those masks come in handy to protect their eyes from dust or flies.

Nice looking horses, but I've never seen horses wearing blinders before. Wonder why?

It's the masked crusader.

Must be fun to enjoy the horses without all the work! There are some that summer near the golf course. But usually they give me the rump view when I come near! ;-)

I see horse masks like that here as well.

No kidding...they certainly look like champions! (The masks are an equine version of movie star sunglasses, worn when they want to be out, discrete, in the world. ;-) )
