The Bridge of Flowers straddles the Farmington River in the Weatogue neighborhood of Simsbury. It is an 1892 metal truss bridge that is now open only to hikers, pedestrians and cyclists. Volunteers maintain the 48 flower boxes and 32 hanging baskets, with funds donated by local businesses.

What a wonderful idea! That is so pretty! I love the way the bright green of the sweet potato vines contrasts with the teal color of the bridge. And I like that you captured it when it is wet. It seems to make the colors more intense.

This is a wonderful concept to convert an unused bridge from what would be an eyesore into an attractive amenity. I lik the teal color to soften the contrast between the plants and the metal.

Excellent contrast between the structural and the soft floral Jack, everything looks so good after a shower, are you still getting lots of rain, think we're coming to the end of ours unfortunately, the dams are only at about 35% full as yet, it will be a long dry summer methinks!!

I like the combo very much. I took photos of a similarly adorned (although not as picturesque) bridge in Arroyo Grande close to San Luis Obispo. Very nice lighting in both photos.
