A Little Something Bakery

Park Road in West Hartford has been improving rapidly in recent years as a destination for small, local retail stores, often food-related.  This good storefront bakery is new in the past year.

I love these kinds of stores and am very happy to see a increase in them...maybe if it happens in Hartford it will happen other places, too.

Can you testify to the goodness of their goods?

Oh, I hope that this shop has wonderful success. It looks welcoming and has a European air to it.

Did you stop in for a little something? I would have been tempted for sure.

Inviting storefront for customers, to be sure.

Nice to see this instead of a chain store. Downtown Tempe, Arizona, had a lot of quaint stores, then the chains moved in, driving the rents higher, the local shops have disappeared, and now it is too similar to what you would see at most malls and has eroded some of its charm.

It's so cute! Of course, it really doesn't matter WHAT it looks like-- if it's a bakery, I have to go in.

You should have a look at this other "bakery", posted today too:

They could come together on a Post under the name America vs Paris ( or something like that) :-)

I bet many people are attracted to this shop.

That would soon entice me in. It must have been closed though - no bread in the windows.

I want to know what was inside. It is a nice photo but something about the word bakery creates the desire to know what kind of baked goods are inside.

Love the colors...how is the food? Always on the look out for good food.

I love that name! Wish more independent shops would thrive nowadays, I've always enjoyed the more unique places.

It's an inviting storefront ... very cute. I hope they succeed in these tough economic times.

Sweet place! Do you get the free "Edible" magazine in Hartford? We have one called Edible Cape Cod. They are often found in a place like this.
