The Land of Steady Habits

One of the nicknames for Connecticut is "The Land of Steady Habits."  I don't think it is a compliment.

As I crossed South Main Street in West Hartford, I counted the cars.  There were 18 cars.  And every one was black or silver or white.  Every one.  18 out of 18.  No red.  No blue.  No yellow.  18 black or silver or white cars.

The Land of Steady Habits.

I will be away from April 8 through the 16th, but I have scheduled posts to be shown here during that time. While traveling, I should be able to read any comments you leave on this blog, but I will not have much time to respond to your comments or to leave comments on your blogs. I'll see you all again when I get back!

Well... where are the days when cars used to have fun colours? It's more or less the same here. I would have loved mine to NOT be silver but to be honest, it cost a packet to have it changed to a lovely blue. So silver it is.

This post made me laugh out loud, Jack! I think we are living in conservative, boring times. Could it be the economy? :))

Oh my gosh, that is quite an observation!

It's getting like that here. You can have any colour so long as it's silver or white. My mum's little car (which I'm currently driving) is a nice bright red - yay!

The scene does look a trifle drab, doesn't it? The trees haven't leafed out yet, but when they do, their colours will definitely diminish that of the cars. In fact, we'll be so excited about spring we'll forget about the autos.

It is quite boring isn't it? Although there is nothing like a black car when it is clean.

I've never heard that nickname before. Good observation w/the cars. I've been having problems with Blogger when I set the time delay. I hope all goes well for you. Have a great getaway from the blogging grind. Come back!
