Around the Town

The town hangs baskets of flowers from lamp posts all around the downtown.  Brightly colored streamers also adorn many lamp posts on Main Street's commercial district.  Love the flowers and streamers!

American flags were hung in advance of Memorial Day and stay throughout the summer.

On May 17, I showed this sculpture on the lawn of the library and explained that it was donated to honor a longtime retired director of the library.  I didn't give her name:  Anita Daubenspeck.  Sadly, a week after that post her husband, David, passed away at the age of 87.  Two weeks later Anita also died, at 82.   Flowers have graced the bench since then.  A loving tribute.

That is a patriotic thing for the town to do by putting up all those flags. The flowers also look just fine. What a fine tribute to the Librarian. The statue and bench look good.
