The Capitol

Hartford is Connecticut's capital city.  I drove past the Capitol and stopped for a photograph.
I liked the way trees in Bushnell Park framed it, and the clouds were good,
but the sun was lighting the other side of the Capitol.

So, I drove to the other side.  The light on the face of the Capitol was better,
but the framing and clouds weren't as good.

Which do you prefer?

How beautiful! My Dad (1904-1998) enjoyed taking pictures of State Capitols and we have his images all filed away in our basement. Needless to say, the photography is so much better now, but the historical value of the images is wonderful.

The first one looks more dramatic to me, Jack!

I like the first one best. What a great looking building.

Prefer the first, where the building seems to belong in a natural setting, rather than being starkly defined. However, for an architectural view, the second does give more design detail.

Magnificent architecture.

Well, I guess one can't have everything. Unless the back of the building gets some sun another times of the year. Meanwhile, nothing like a shiny dome in the second, and nothing like a park like vista in the first...Both are good to look at.
