This Time of the Year

If you want to feed two struggling species -- monarch butterflies and bees -- plant purple asters.

Japanese maple.

Limelight hydrangea.

A May-flowering rhododendron that got confused.

A quiet weekday afternoon in West Hartford Center.

It was +28˚C here yesterday and all of the bees were out and about as were the people! I think the Monarchs have all headed south since I haven't seen any for a week.

Great colors! We have a confused fruit tree that has some blossoms.
