Pratt Street is a pedestrian-only street in the heart of Hartford's downtown. All summer long the road has been blocked off and torn up while underground utilities were upgraded and
new brick pavers were laid. Very tough on the merchants but it re-opens this week.

Nice perspective on this shot, Jack.
Merchants with loyal customers sometimes manage to survive even under massive construction conditions.
This is always hard on the shops. There's a major project underway that's been really cutting into the shops here.
It's tough for the merchants but once it's over everyone will be happy and put the inconvenience behind them.
It seems to be the same story for merchants everywhere, Jack! I hope most of them make it through the chaos!
Hopefully business will be back better than ever. Nice perspective on this shot.
I admire you. My knees would not permit me to take this shot. I bet the city or utilities don't compensate the merchants for the loss of business.
I like the low down shot. Lots of digging and up grades here too.
Your knees clearly permit perspective shots some of us only dream of.
