Concert

The Philharmonic Orchestra of the performance-hall-that-cannot-be-named-because-photography-is-not-permitted opened its season last weekend under a new music director.

Tchaikovsky's Capriccio Italien opened and Brahms' Symphony No. 1 in C Minor concluded, but the
highlight was the less well known Symphonie Espagnole by Edouard Lala.  The violin
soloist was Robert McDuffie, whose brilliant playing
had the audience leaping to its feet.

I guess they find the camera sounds disturbing while performing?

Intriguing angle in that first shot, well done, Jack !

I've been places like that and even before the performance they allow no photography. I can think of no reason why!

I can just imagine the people leaping to their feet. Must have been a great show!

Oh, I do love concerts like that where everyone enjoys and show their pleasure!! Those are a couple of my favorites and I am familiar with McDuffie! What a great time!! I'm glad you're such a sneaky guy, Jack!! Great captures!!

Did you have to commando-crawl under the seats to get that first shot?

I know the Tchaikovsky and Brahms works well.

Here it's allowed before performances, and afterwards, but no cameras during a performance.

A symphony orchestra performance is such a special event. Sorry they take such a narrow view of photography.

Charitably I can only suppose that people have allowed their cameras to be noisy during performances. If not, fie on them!

I should not be doing this while watching the World Series; I cannot concentrate very well on your photo. Will come back tomorrow.

I love photographers who ignore the rules.

Nice program. We've had McDuffie here.

Cheeky. Now why wouldn't photography be allowed before and after a concert?

I had no idea you're a rule-breaker, Jack. ;))
