Sorrento's main streets are closed to traffic on Saturday night.
People stroll, to shop, to dine, and to see and be seen.
The police band performed in Piazza Tasso, the city's center.
The seats were full. People stood and filled the piazza.

In a lot of places in England if there were that many folks on the street the police would have more to do than play tunes.
That's a lot of people out and about. The city at night looks really alive and vibrant.

I am really enjoying your series in southern Italy.
I also enjoy European pedestrian-only streets, except for the time that I mistakenly drove down one in Bordeaux, unable to turn off because of the barriers to keep cars out.
These are great Jack. Thank you.
This town seems to have an active night life filled with music and good times. Beautifully documented.
Oh, it looks like so much fun, Jack!! I wish I could be there!! Delightful pics to start my day! I would tell you to "enjoy", but somehow I suspect that you ARE doing just that!!
There's something magic with italien nights..
I love how Italians tend to fill the streets in the evening. It makes their towns feel so alive.
That's a fabulous idea, Jack!
