Maybe it Takes a Fountain to Be a Mansion

If a fancy fountain is needed, this house has one, but I can't see the house
well enough to know if it is a mansion.

This house has a smaller fountain, and it isn't working.
But, the house is plenty big.  Maybe it is a mansion?

What about this one?  I don't think mansions have awnings.

I think I need to keep looking.

None of these have half the charm of the blue house you showed a couple of posts back. As for the definity of a mansion (large and stately house) I would say that all of these fit the bill. The fountain and size of the garden are essential features I think.

I've been enjoying your photos of the mansions. They each have a unique architecture, far different from the mansions seen say in Newport, RI. I was going to say that any house I can't afford to live in is a mansion, but then again, any house that I have lived in, I consider to be my mansion. Nice series of photos.

Pretty amazing look!

I like Ed's definition of his own house. As far as my own definition; I need to follow Mr. Webster's . . . I still want to see the owners to decide if their house is a mansion.

Beautiful homes but I doubt I would feel comfortable living in them. Cozy is more my style. ;))

maybe just go the front door, ring the bell and ask whether the owners think they live in a mansion?
and dont forget to take a picture! :D

These are beautiful and I love your captures, but somehow they look more like hotels than houses to me, but then I'm just a simple old broad, what can I say???

The Spanish influences of the last two really appeal to me!

Mansion - could be an interesting theme day, Jack! I think these are heading in that direction.

Hmmm….perhaps the property owners of the second abode did not have enough of a budget for their fountain. : ) It seems a bit small…and, if you're not going to let it flow then why bother? I think I may need to explore 'McMansions' in my neck of the woods. Nice finds, by the way.

Surely one can not claim to dwell in a mansion if ones fountain is inoperable. Very bad show, old boy.
