A snowbird shows photos from southwest Florida and southern New England and other places he goes.
Very nice. There's an excellent Butterfly "garden" near Boca Raton also. Looks to me like you're spending way too much time in gardens and at races instead of where you are most needed - the golf course!
Gorgeous little creatures! The Zebras are amazing.
These are all butterflies that show up at the Desert Botanical Garden for their spring or fall butterfly pavilion. That should not be a surprise since the butterflies here actually come from Florida. The pavilion just opened the first of March but I haven't been yet. I need to get out there this week.
Perfect place to get good butterfly shots. I used to love the one in Phoenix.
Great pictures, beautiful butterflies!
Wonderful to have an expert available to explain the different butterflies.
Beautiful captures of beautiful butterflies!! I do love the Zebras!! You're really into the nature thing these days, Jack, Lowell is right, time for some golf!!
Oh I love the Zebra butterflies Jack, haven't seen them before.. not even in Africa :) Beautifully shown here, love the soft background.
These are such magical places, Jack!
Beautiful macros of these nice butterflies!
You are very lucky to have seen such beauties and been able to make them sit still for us to enjoy. That first pic does make me think of spiders though.
beautiful ! :)
What brilliant shots! I'm so impressed you were able to take notes and lovely photos at the same time. They look so ethereal, yet strong and striking...
Gee, we go all the way to Dave's place in Costa Rica to see these. I could save some money. They are magnificent, though, wherever you find them.
Beautiful shots! We get some swallow tails here in the warmer months. I love the color on the zebras.
What a beautiful job it must be !Are you sure the lady is holding a butterfly in the first shot?..
You got some great shots Jack! Butterflies are not easy to capture, they're always flitting about. :)
Wonderful work, Jack.
Nice shots Jack. I"ve never see the Zebra!V
The docent looked to be holding a tarantula to me. (I saw one big enough in Death Valley once that it cast a shadow.)Lovely butterflies and nice shots of them. This looks like a great place to have fun with your camera.
This is something I would very much enjoy seeing for myself!
