Inside Mel's Diner

Mel's Diner is a colorful place.
Charlie Chaplin and Betty Boop greet customers.

Charlie is cruel, mocking the posture of the unsuspecting customer.

I am enjoying your photos of Mel's both inside and outside.

Yup, your diner is far more dramatic than the one we have in downtown St.Paul!

I like the interior but Charlie Chaplin and Betty Boop aren't two of my favorite characters...

That does look like such a fun place, Jack!! I've really enjoyed your pics from there! Definitely more colorful -- inside and out -- than any I've seen here in Portland!!!

So you get down on all fours to take pics now, eh? Well the result is fantastic!

Great catch on the first shot. I'm picturing your exploring more floors and ground levels for your shots these days than I'd care for. I trust you'd give Mel's a thumbs up on floor cleaning.

I've been to a couple of the Mel's Diners in Los Angeles. I assume this is an offshoot. Same bright, theatrical atmosphere.
