Stalls and Walls and Tiles

Yesterday I showed the ceiling of Hartford Public Library and observed that the ceiling is reflective.  How about this well polished floor?

The walls at the end of this scene are supersized photos of Hartford cultural sites.  My 2011 Photo of the Year used a different part of this wall.

This shot was taken in the fall, while the trees still had green leaves.

Is there a more welcoming place then a room of books? Maybe a comfy, packed pub with good friends...

The green trees are but a memory right now, but, oh, how lovely. It is my sincere hope that we will never lose libraries that own stacks of books!!

Libraries are nice places... Silent, still, full of knowledge... It's been long since I last browsed at one, need to go again...
God bless you!

This library has a very bright, open space. Very helpful for reading and learning. I love the large photo at the end of the wall.

What a beautiful library! I love all the light and that huge photo!! Not to mention the polished floors! Awesome! One of the loveliest libraries I've seen in a long time. Enjoy your weekend, Jack!

This is a interesting example of false perspective: I took that hall for real at first...

Modern libraries can be very impressive- I did not think I would like them but this one is a fine example.

A library sounds like paradise to me! The picture on the wall gives a long perspective to the place.

Love this shot, Jack! The perspective between the shelving really draws me into the scene... I know you said you don't have a lot of time on line but I hope you relent and come on over and enter it in 'Weekly Top Shot.' We're on Week #16, I'd love to see you share with me and my readers! Here's this weeks' link: http://www.theviewfromrighthere.com/blog/?p=6115

Love the perspective - takes you places in the same way that the books can.

Nice library, nice thoughtful place to find books. I've been in extremely dull libraries and some are more welcoming. This one is quite welcoming.

It has a nice feel to it - and such a lot of space between the shelves. No danger of feeling trapped!

What a great idea to cover the walls in huge photos, to be honest I thought for a minute that was another wing to the library Jack haha! Only kidding, it looks like a great library and yes it certainly does have a shiny floor
