I know grass artists are very proud of their lines. The head mower at Fenway Park holds seminars on this, as well as making pictures, words, and logos in lawns. Great shots!
I bet this is not as 'straightforward' (haha!) as it looks!! The sky is gorgeous in that top shot Jack, the turret has a slightly medieval look to it. Hartford has a lot of very old and beautiful buildings methinks.
Both buildings and their vast lawns are perfect places to practice this "art." The towers on each of them are also quite unique. The architecture seems very classic in design also.
The buildings are great but the lawns are fabulous! The grass art is always one of the neat things about watching a baseball game in a stadium with natural turf.

Like everyone else I'm drawn into the photos because of the lawns. In St. Louis at the new Busch Stadium they mow the arch in the outfield to replicate the Arch that you can see peaking out over the top of the stadium in the outfield.
A pair of majestic buildings and photographs! Gotta give the grass cutters credit...of course, that is an incredibly boring job (so far as I'm concerned) that they probably dreamed up such patterns in order to avoid going a wee bit crazy!

I always like to see these designs on lawns. However, I don't think I would have the patience to do this on my own.

I used to mow my grass and was intent on getting the lines straight. I am sure that comes as no surprise...

I get it . I so get it. I had a big big yard for a long time and cutting the grass every week was taxing but gratifying as well.
