I'm surprised that he is not surrounded by folks fascinated by mounted police. Try as he might, the horse and policeman are hardly inconspicuous! Hope you have shots of the Jazz Festival!
I love the way you've caught him from behind Jack, sitting observing the scene in front of him, looking out for possible ructions!! surely not in Hartford!!
I really like this shot Jack, it's like I'm there quietly observing too. It's a photo that made me think, I've sat staring at it for a few minutes now, lost in my own thoughts.
I love that you chose this perspective of the patient policeman rather than getting in the thick of the crowd. It seems private, in a way, this spot so distant from the noisy revelry. Nicely done!

He might have been inconspicuous to some. Not to your camera.

We also have mounted policemen here, during summer. But the poor horses have much less greenery to enjoy than yours..
Everyone looks better on a horse. THey're such a great accessory. :)
Always good to have them around!
Jazz in park sounds perfect, and this beautiful horse with his no less handsome (I hope) partner looks superb:)
I'm seeing mounted police in different places more and more. I don't know why but, I'm always surprised to see one.

Giddy up horsie, giddy up!
Adorable horse, it's a beautiful sunny day at the park, very nice people can be security!

The mounted patrol in our city was a victim of the economy. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Hiding out. I wonder where he's hiding his radar gun?
Love the shot, Jack.
Re palmettos: I have checked my crystal ball and do believe I see palmettos in your not too distant future!
Greet your better half from me, OK?

Beautiful horse. He's pretty far away to be threat though.
Terrific capture and I love the horse! Looks like such a lovely, sunny day for the Jazz Festival! Hope your week is going well, Jack! Enjoy your day!

We have them here too! The sheriff's office calls them their "mounted posse".
A jazz festival? I hope we'll get to see more of it.
Nice way to keep people safe. Horses do tend to scare the not-so-nice-crowds away...
Smart of them to stick to the shade in this heat we are all having!
This is really an unusual sight for us: every time I see mounted policemen I take a lot of pictures of them!
Great capture! Hope the horse loved the music too! He he he!
The Lone Ranger making sure there is peace in the valley. The park looks like a great place to be.
What a super scene you've captured. The horse is so beautiful -- love the shades of rich brown. A watchful eye over a fun time.
Very discreet security and nice to see he's resting that beautiful horse in the shade!
Here we have the National Guard on horses, not exactly the police.
