Sunset at Naples Pier

There weren't many clouds, so the sunset was not as dramatic as some evenings.

But, I was there and I had my camera, so we take what we can get.

Clouds or not, you still got some excellent shots.

Well done, Jack. The Naples pier is a super place for sunsets. I don't know how you got the gal in the picture, though. And the bird. Just the right place at the right time again, I guess.

Re your map: Go to Naples pier. Start walking west. When you get to Arkansas, ask directions.

Very dramatic colors! I need to get to the beaches up here as soon as the weather warms.

You got some fine pictures. So many people there! I hope the pier is strong.

The people in the photos add wonderful images to your sunset; I like the man with the hat and the middle photo of the girls reminds me of "the free spirit" sculpture I posted on my blog last Friday: http://mysantafe-kate.blogspot.com/2014/04/a-free-spirit.html Great sunset photos!

You really can't go wrong with a Florida sunset, especially this time of year. But, you're right -- the ones with a swath of clouds make for more dramatic images.

I was in your neck of the woods last weekend. "Had" to go shoe shopping at Nordstrom.

Your encounter with the mailbox owl sounds similar to what I've experienced with the barred owl family at Myakka State Park. While they look fierce, they haven't been aggressive with humans near their nest (as opposed to red shouldered hawks which will dive-bomb you with their talons extended until you get the hint to leave their domain). I returned to the owl nest yesterday and the adult flew to a branch within 4-5 yards of me. Very cool…and yet a bit unnerving.

Congrats to your Huskies. I was a bit surprised by last night's outcome. Now that the Big Ten Badgers are out, I'll have to root for UConn…since they toppled Sparty.

Looks like a pretty popular spot at sunset. I'd be there too.

Oh so evocative! I don't know what is more appealing, the soft pastels of that sky & the thought of those gentle waves, or how nice it would feel to wear a layer or two less clothing and still be comfortable. Our weather forecast one day this week calls for "Civil War sky: blue vs. gray."
