The Lady from Haiti

Melody operates a Fifth Avenue shop selling colorful art work and gifts from Haiti.
A year ago I showed a post about her daughter Rachel, who was adopted in Haiti,
the inspiration for Melody's store.  Melody told me that Rachel is doing well
at Florida Gulf Coast University, studying marine biology.

(Posting Naples pix while I am in Botswana and without wifi.)

Melody says this year is her "year of the mermaid."  Here is Melody's photo of a mermaid item.

Cluttered backgrounds don't usually work but this one really adds to the portrait. I remember the post about the daughter and am glad to hear she's doing well. Marine biology? I wonder what SHE thinks about mermaids????

A very colorful portrait. Thanks for the link; I missed the original post so was glad to see it. Both mother and daughter are successes!

That would be a good place to go to get a lift on a dull day!

I know I would like going in that shop. Friendly smile to greet me...what could be better.

It looks like quite an eclectic shop!

This portrait shows what a welcoming person she must be.

Wonderful portrait, Jack! The background colors play well with Melody's blouse. And, she has such a warm, endearing smile -- nice!
