Out of the Jurisdiction: The Happy Family

It was hard leaving daughter Susie, son-in-law Wessel and new granddaughter Willa behind in their place outside Johannesburg.  But, the time had come and they needed to get on with their lives.

The last afternoon I took this photo of the happy family -- Susie, Wes, three week old Willa, and my walking companions, Lola and Sequoia.

And, below is Susie with Willa, the day before, while Wessel was at work,

I got back in the States yesterday after a long flight.  Over the next few days, I will be occupied with making the arrangements to close up the Florida house and get up to Connecticut.  While busy with the semi-annual moving details. I will continue with posts about Africa.

Beautiful family portrait, Jack. And, good looking walking companions! Glad to hear you made it back safe and sound. You're past due to leave Florida -- the mercury has been hitting 90.

Oh I"ll bet there were some tears, but how very special that you were able to spend this time with them and meet Willa. Lucky for you there's Skype, and email and Instagram! Thank you for sharing your family with all of us Jack.

Welcome back. Leaving them must have been so hard. I always feel that a little of me is ripped away when I leave my family. Lucky for me, in a month's time they will move north to within a 45 minute drive of me! Can't wait. Susie is beautiful and looks so serene in that bottom photo. All the best with your next relocation! You globe trotter you...

The first shot is one for framing Jack. How long does it take to fly from where you are to South Africa?

Jack, you are certainly a blessed fellow, to be able to visit your daughter and her sweet family, plus enjoy where they live so much, too. Now you're home with plenty to do and your wonderful photos to enjoy, bringing back all sorts of good memories. See what I mean, blessed.

Aaw, it must be difficult to leave. It is a lovely "Madonna and Child" photo. I'm sure you will get back to see them often. Don't miss the milestones of little Willa.

Very nice photos.
Keep all good memories and you will meet up again soon.
It is good to have SKYPE etc. when you live in different parts of the world.
