Willimantic

Willimantic has old mill buildings that have been renovated into space for nonprofits, government agencies, social service organizations and education.  On a nice day, from the right perspective and with the right light, the old mills cast attractive reflections on the dammed stream before it cascades.

Nice pics. Funny - if the multi-colored metal railings weren't there in the bottom pic, it could have been a hundred years ago!

This is a good reuse and preservation of the old mills. I think we should convert closed automobile dealerships into art space. We certainly have enough empty dealership buildings around.

Those are big mills. I have only known the small mechanical ones. But I guess it's the same principle. Thanks for sharing. Your photos are great!

Such a peaceful feeling. It's great to see the old mills renovated. I worked in one once and it was gorgeous with the old brick walls and sliding metal doors.

What a step back in time and how great that the mill buildings have been re-purposed. It makes me wonder where you were standing to get this perspective.
