Still in Hartford's West End.
This interesting old house on Kenyon Street was recently repainted.
This interesting old house on Kenyon Street was recently repainted.
The painters were not finished in time to show it off for the September "pink" theme
of the City Daily Photo bloggers.
But I thought you might like to see it.
A neighbor told me that eleven different shades of pink were used in the repainting.

Wow! This home really stands out. Mary Kay promo?
What a house! Kenyon is my mother's maiden name

Pink was a popular color in Victorian times.
Very pink!
Pink is a hard color to work with when painting, and whoever did this one did a wonderful job. It has subtle shades. Had to be an act of faith to paint it pink.
This is not a color (or colors) that I would paint a house. For some reason it just doesn't seem right for a house. When I first looked at the photo I thought that my dad would have called this Pepto-Bismol pink.
Well, it's an interesting color for a huge house, but I think I'd have to repaint if it were to come into my hands!! But since that is highly unlikely, may the pink bloom on! Great shot as always, Jack, regardless of the color!!
An unusual paint job. 11 huh, don't get them mixed up.
Looks great and makes a good subject for a photo, but I would not live in a pink house...
It works. Wouldn't be in my top 5 choices, but it's decidedly better than the "Crest toothpaste green" used on a newly built house in my neighborhood (smack in our view line). We have CC&Rs to prevent this. In theory only.
Not a pink one please, but I can always get it repainted...
I love these grand homes that you have been showing but I think I would probably repaint this one! ;-)
Hartford seems to be a bit reserved for the likes of a PINK house but i"m glad to see this Jack. It would be welcome on the Gulf coast and of course Key West.

Not too much of a fan of the colour, but it's a striking house!
The color says South Beach but the architecture says New England.
Eleven shades of any color on a house is a good 7 shades too many.
First thing I would do is give it a paint job.
I think a paler pink would fit in better, but it's a wonderful house anyway.
now i'm humming the john mellancamp song ;)
would fit my pink shoes... ;)
