Remember Sue?

Sue is a blogger from greater Hartford who let me show five of her Connecticut photos while I was in Florida last winter.  She has a gardening blog -- Idyll Haven -- focusing on the extensive plantings in her yard in Wethersfield.  One photo I "borrowed" showed her yard after the 23 inch snowstorm in February, which sure looks refreshing after a six day heat wave!  In midsummer Sue's amazing garden looks like this:

The contrast between the explosion of colors in the summer quite a contrast with the white of winter. As unpleasant as the summer heat is, I suspect that people would still prefer to endure it than deal with a 23-inch snowfall like you had last February.

That looks so beautiful and imaginative.

It's pictures like these that answer my question, "How do people endure those 23-inch snow storms?" Print these shots and hang them up for the times when winter seems unbearable.

Well, she's a beauty as his her garden. When I saw the last picture, I thought, "It would be really nice to have a garden like this." But then I realized how much work it would take. So, I went and got a beer which I drank before I took a nap.

Nice pictures Jack! Just for the record, I prefer the July version of my garden to the January version but in January I definitely have more time to drink and nap.

I"d venture a "heat wave" in Hartford is far cooler than one in B'ham! Sue's garden is lovely!

How nice to see a picture of a blogger-friend that I have known only through her garden posts. She's a real person! And lovely one too.
