Bushnell Park Carousel

The carousel at Bushnell Park was only open Saturday and Sunday nights in December.  But I was there in the afternoon when it was dark, closed and locked up tight.  So, I pressed my camera's lens hood against the window glass and clicked the shutter button, to see what happened.  I got surprising light and clarity in the middle and a diffused reflection at the edges.  I liked this dreamlike effect.  You will see it again!

When we photographers are determined, nothing deters us. As I reflect on this, I can see that carousels are images hard to resist. Good job!!

These in winter... not the most uplifting. Kind of a downer. I long for summer, already!

When I was young, I could never go on a Carousel without getting sick.

I love the way that turned out- it always pays to think outside the box!

Great capture Jack - gives one the desire to recapture one's youth and go hop on one of the horses! Again, thanks for sharing your creativity and talents with us. Wishing you and yours a very happy and safe NY.

I'll bet it looks great at night.

Interesting effect... I have a 'tripod' if you will that clamps on my car window, and surprisingly I use it often...

I don't quite get it - is it in a glass box? What was the glass barrier? Nevertheless, dreamlike it certainly is.

Vintage carousels are getting scarce. Although old fashioned, they still give pleasure.

What a surprising effect. I thought you'd Photoshopped it at first glance. How nice that you managed it with a low tech approach.
