The carousel at Bushnell Park was only open Saturday and Sunday nights in December. But I was there in the afternoon when it was dark, closed and locked up tight. So, I pressed my camera's lens hood against the window glass and clicked the shutter button, to see what happened. I got surprising light and clarity in the middle and a diffused reflection at the edges. I liked this dreamlike effect. You will see it again!

Life is like a chocolate box: you never know what you'll get!(Forrest Gump speaking)
The result is really surprising!
there's a wonderful eerie quality to this.
Dreamlike... You said it right!
When we photographers are determined, nothing deters us. As I reflect on this, I can see that carousels are images hard to resist. Good job!!
Merry-go-round! How lovely, like a trip to the childhood:)
These in winter... not the most uplifting. Kind of a downer. I long for summer, already!
Our 3 daughters love to ride those carousels! Me, not so much!
Happy New Year, Jack!
Dreamlike it is and what a delightful capture! It is fun to play, isn't it! Have a day, Jack!

That's a new one on me but effective. Very effective!
Are you quite sure it was dark?! :-) This is like walking through a secret garden or a wardrobe...
Dreamlike is a perfect description. Very nice. Those horses are just waiting for some riders.
Nice one Jack!
Photogenic under any circumstances.
Your creativity is booming! Nicely done!
When I was young, I could never go on a Carousel without getting sick.
I love the way that turned out- it always pays to think outside the box!
Great capture, I like this effect.
Happy New Year!
Really a sweet photo.
Great capture Jack - gives one the desire to recapture one's youth and go hop on one of the horses! Again, thanks for sharing your creativity and talents with us. Wishing you and yours a very happy and safe NY.
I'll bet it looks great at night.
Interesting effect... I have a 'tripod' if you will that clamps on my car window, and surprisingly I use it often...
I don't quite get it - is it in a glass box? What was the glass barrier? Nevertheless, dreamlike it certainly is.
You managed softening of the edges without editing - super shot Jack. I look forward to more of your great Pics from Hartford in 2012.l
Vintage carousels are getting scarce. Although old fashioned, they still give pleasure.
What a surprising effect. I thought you'd Photoshopped it at first glance. How nice that you managed it with a low tech approach.
I'll get a shot of a fine Parisian one for you very soon.
