Over the decades, Loomis Chaffee has had a very successful aquatic program. Boys water polo teams compete in the fall, boys and girls swimming and diving teams compete in the winter, and girls water polo competes in the spring.
The walls of Hedges Swimming Pool are lined with banners for championships won, plaques listing the record holders in these sports, and many All-American plaques recognizing Loomis athletes who competed at the highest levels in their sports.
BONUS REFLECTION: At the left, three cold children outside the Richmond Art Center at Loomis Chaffee look out at a pile of snow, reflected in the window behind them.
On Fridays you can see more Weekend Reflections by visiting
Newtown Area Photo.

What a terrific pool!! The swimming team must be very strong.
Wonderful pool, and I LOVE the three sculptures with gorgeous blue sky reflected in the glass!
Thanks for this brilliant bonus! :)

Looks like an awesome facility. It must be a nice place where students want to practice based on all those championship pennants hanging on the walls.
Oh a swim sounds nice. Love the sculpture!
What a great water sports program. And, you are so right, those children do look cold!
And those little children on the statue are just shivering! They need little coats in that frigid air... Very nice pool for this fabulous school.

What a history this school has! It's nice that students have such great facilities in which to learn and grow.
And I love the bonus reflection. That is too funny!!!
Those kids do look positively freezing! Why didn't they go inside where the weather I'm sure is warm and humid? :)
Great reflections. I was a swimmer growing up and I wish my team had that many banners. I love the subtle reflections of the flags on the water.
I like the colors and the lights make interesting reflections. The cute statue looks like it needs a little TLC.
Have a delightful weekend.

Those children do look cold! The blue color of the pool is very calming to me.
The kids really look like being freezing!the swimming pool is fabulous when there's no wave yet! sleeping water..a perfect way to catch reflections!
Would love to jump in and make a splash in that pool. I love the bonus shot Jack! Someone should give those children coats!
Great looking pool and marvelous reflections. Love those cold looking little kids out front! Yep, I think it could use a little TLC and maybe a warm place in room with the pool!! Have a great weekend, Jack!

Great reflections. I love reflections like the top one the more I stare the more I see until it all comes into focus.
I like the effect of the lines on the bottom of the pool. The lovely little children look so scary watching all that snow! :-)
That pool looks great. It took me a moment to realize the lanes weren't curved, but the water was deeper!
Wonderful reflections in both pictures! The children are adorable!
Wohoo, two for the price of one! ;-) I wouldn't mind a dive.
I bet they make a really big splash in their competitions! I'm overdue for a swim in a pool like that!
The blue of the pool with the green ceiling is wonderful. What a great school!
What a great school.
I like the reflection in the second shot!
We seem to have thought alike. My Reflections shot this week is also a pool. Yours is calm and placid, and eye-pleasing blue.
An amazing couple of reflection...
I love the quiet you were able to take on this shot.... Those public places are so noisy, when they are crowed ; and we are usually able to visit them only when they are open, therefore full of people...
I'll take one of those in my backyard, covered and heated please ;-) I like the color of the water.
I like the big blocks of color that the pool and the ceiling provide.
