Park Shore

Park Shore is an older Naples neighborhood, meaning it was developed
in the 1960s onward with simple one-story ranch homes.  They are often on canals,
near the gulf.  Location, location, location.

There is an active business in buying up the older ranches, tearing them down

and constructing much larger and more expensive homes.

This one is underway.

It will end up like this.

Back to the Baker

In a recent visit to the Baker Museum, I was greeted by over-sized origami birds by artists Kevin and Jennifer Box.  The Baker has five and co-sponsor Naples Botanical Garden is showing 30.

An interesting show of work by Naples-based commercial advertising and fine arts 

photographer Harry de Zitter was given four rooms.

Fellow blogger Bob Crowe of St. Louis Daily Photo has been visiting Seattle and showing some of the creative glass work from the Chihuli studio.. The Baker has some, too, in the ceiling above a walkway between galleries.  The donors -- as usual -- were Jay and Patty Baker.

(There is also a three floor tall blue glass chandelier.)

Veterans Day

Freedom Park is at the corner of Golden Gate Parkway and Goodlette Frank Road in Naples.

Last year a memorial was erected to remember the victims of September 11 

as well as police, fire fighters and veterans.

Traffic Circles

You can't imagine how controversial these traffic circles in Olde Naples have been.

I am betting that a few months after the roads are re-opened, the other neighborhoods will

be clamoring to have their own traffic circles installed.  So much better than traffic lights!

The election is (thankfully) over, the sun is out, the sky is blue, and life goes on.

You probably have not seen hay bales like these before.

A Dark Night

Well, it looks like Donald Trump will be our President.  We will have to figure out how
to support him.  It won't be easy, but the United States has a longstanding tradition of
coming together behind a newly elected President.  Fasten your seat belts.

Employ the Tattooed

I was going to ask permission to take his photograph.  Honest.  But, the place was crowded,

he was with his parents, he got through the line faster than I did and I lost track of him.

If you are American, please vote today.  Especially if you are a decent person with common sense, do not want to see America humiliated in the eyes of the world and do not want the country to be governed for the next four years by a bullying egotist without well-considered policies.
