Empty Bowls is a hugely popular fundraiser to support organizations fighting hunger.
Local potters and artists decorate bowls, which attendees buy for $25 each.
Restaurants make soup that attendees can sample.
A disc jockey plays energizing music.
Some volunteers wear hats decorated in the bowl theme.
Some potters make special bowls, plates and pottery that are available for purchase. These are by Ginnie Mueller, who offered at least half a dozen that I saw.

Sad to see that they need to help people this way, but good that they do.
The artists donate so much. Good for them.
What a wonderful event. Attendees can buy a bowl or two, sample local restaurant soups, and support a great cause. I have worked to reduce hunger for more than 30 years.
Sounds like a great idea.
