While I was in Elizabeth Park, I admired the newly restored, historic, Lord & Burnham greenhouses.
A young man ran past. I pushed the shutter button.
I noticed the white striped walkway contrasted nicely with the greenhouse architecture. I moved to the right. Click.
Photos of the greenhouses two ways. Which do you prefer?

I would have moved back a bit to get the whole tree in the photo. Would most likely have shot it as a panorama before cropping it.
Jack, your first photo is a fine street photo, and the second is an artistic composition with the crossing lines leading to the greenhouse structure. I wonder if the Burnham who designed these greenhouses is the same Burnham who drew up the plans for Chicago parks?
First one. Dunno why. Other than I think the structures themselves are not very exciting (though useful) and the addition of the crosswalk relates to them in a way. But I am NOT a photographer, though I do paint pitchers.
I like both takes.
