Action or Design?

While I was in Elizabeth Park, I admired the newly restored, historic, Lord & Burnham greenhouses.

A young man ran past.  I pushed the shutter button.

I noticed the white striped walkway contrasted nicely with the greenhouse architecture.   I moved to the right.  Click.

Photos of the greenhouses two ways.  Which do you prefer?

I would have moved back a bit to get the whole tree in the photo. Would most likely have shot it as a panorama before cropping it.

Jack, your first photo is a fine street photo, and the second is an artistic composition with the crossing lines leading to the greenhouse structure. I wonder if the Burnham who designed these greenhouses is the same Burnham who drew up the plans for Chicago parks?

First one. Dunno why. Other than I think the structures themselves are not very exciting (though useful) and the addition of the crosswalk relates to them in a way. But I am NOT a photographer, though I do paint pitchers.

I like both takes.
