Photo of the Year

I almost skipped posting on our annual theme of "Photo of the Year."  Many decent photos, but none that I thought were "wow."  Still, I have increasingly photographed birds, originally a response to "There is nothing else to do" in the early days of the pandemic.

This noble eagle from April 28 was in "Nice Light."

An osprey parent flew at me to discourage me from pointing a camera at its nest.  "Birds," March 30.

And, here are the two osprey chicks their parent was protecting.

They stared down on me with bewildered looks.  "Whaaat?' on April 23.

Better than decent! The light on the eagle couldn't be more dramatic. I couldn't find a picture taken in STL I thought was worthy so I picked something from the whole year's inventory.

Great focus on the second photo, so that would be my favorite.

Jack, you have become a most accomplished bird photographer, and I have shared some of your pictures with some of the local birders here. Love your Eagle picture in beautiful light.
