Italian Woman

Wandering in a small Naples antiques store, I came across this marble bust by the sculptor Antonius Carella.   It was created in 1799 and is modeled on medal work by Pisanello Veronese, c. 1395 - 1455.

My Aunt, who is in her eighties would probably have had a good time in this store. But, her apartment is already filled to capacity!

This shop has some amazing pieces. I would expect to see this porcelain in a museum. The horse and rider is also an interesting looking piece.
