Among the people buried in Redding's Umpawaug Cemetery are jazz pianist Dave Brubeck and his wife. I remember seeing their home in Wilton on the real estate market a year or two ago.
I subsequently learned that Mary Travers of Peter Paul and Mary is also buried here. Next time.

Here is Dave Brubeck taking five. His music was part of the sound track of my youth.
70 years of marriage. That's probably an unbeaten record among jazz musicians. But maybe not. He monkeyed with the rules, but somehow stayed in the straight but not so narrow.
I saw him here late in life, but once he started playing, he was years younger.
