Since my teens I have lived in cities or near-in suburbs, My Ridgefield home is my first in the country.
These are two of the deer that forage in the preserve behind my house. If I ask them nicely to eat the ferns and the swamp cabbages, do you think they will leave my newly planted flowers alone?

I'm sure they will Jack. I have a similar garden with the same types of guests and we get along fine.
Time will tell. Fortunately for them they're so photogenic.
I only have to deal with squirrels!
As always with the critters who have lived there long before we came, sharing the space is up to them...so if they are still coming to be photographed, perhaps they will not care much about your planting; except I've heard Hosta belongs to them. And maybe some other sweet shoots and flowers...not sure.
They visit my yard too...working in the garden center at Lowe’s probably half our customers come in just to find plants the deer won’t eat haha...found one pretty girl eating out of my bird feeder yesterday!
The answer is probably no but they are nevertheless lovely to see.
