A Cattle Egret in Flight

This guy took off.  I had to check a bird book to identify him.  Cattle egrets have shorter bills than other egrets and buff orange on their heads and bellies.

Excellent flight photos, Jack. Egrets never seem to be able to decide what to do with their legs when they're flying. We've just started to get a few of these birds in the UK and I was lucky enough to see one a couple of months ago.

Wonderful action shots of this bird taking flight. Thank you for identifying it. I might have just thought it was a common egret.
