Out of the Jurisdiction: Art and Landmarks

Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec has a big and beautiful special exhibition of
works by the Spanish artist, Joan Miró.

And a roof deck garden, nicely designed with sculptures and succulent plants.

The half hour walk back into town passed churches, fine homes, government buildings
(including the Quebec Parliament building) and tons of statues.

This grouping on the lawn of Parliament honors four women instrumental
to gaining the vote for women and serving in office.

I would have taken a ride in a horse drawn carriage, but I needed the exercise.

The roof garden is indeed a nice design of plants. I didn't quite understand what was happening in that statue with the woman reaching up toward some busts of gentlemen. Wonder what it was all about...

Wonderful series of pictures. I've been to Quebec only once as an adult and don't remember it well. Might have been a 1 or 2 night side trip from Montreal. Thanks for bringing back the sights.

When we were in Barcelona we were able to spend some time in the Miro Museum. I am sure you enjoyed the show.
